Kindred Spirits is an electronic mailing list dedicated to the discussion of the works and life of L.M. Montgomery. The list was established in November 1994 by three pioneering Montgomery fans and came to the L.M. Montgomery Institute at UPEI in the spring of 1995. An active venue for Montgomery scholars and enthusiasts from all over the world, the Kindred Spirits list is an important tool for fostering and expanding the world-wide knowledge and love of Montgomery and her writing. Countries currently represented on the list include Canada, the United States, England, Scotland, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand, China, Finland, the Netherlands, Italy, and Norway.
The L.M. Montgomery Institute provides technical support and in rare cases, conflict mediation. To learn more about the list, see the Kindred Spirits FAQ.

In August 2003, the Kindred Spirits began a scheduled reading of all of Montgomery's books in publication order. This is an example of a member-driven project, one that will be interesting to see what sorts of changes in Montgomery's style, technique, and focus become apparent as we follow her progress as a writer. The first book is, of course, Anne of Green Gables, followed by Anne of Avonlea, and so on through all of her novels and short story collections. Each month, as listed below, promises to bring a new adventure from the world of L.M. Montgomery. (To see a list of Montgomery's published works, visit the "Works" section.)
