LMMI Visiting Scholar Co-Edits new edition of Rilla
The L.M. Montgomery Institute congratulates Visiting Scholar Dr. Benjamin Lefebvre, and his co-editor, Dr. Andrea McKenzie (NYU), on the recent publishing of the restored and annotated edition of Rilla of Ingleside. Originally published in 1921 as the final sequel to Anne of Green Gables, the new edition includes an introduction by the editors, a detailed glossary, maps, and war poems by L.M. Montgomery and her contemporary Virna Sheard.
Check out Dr. Lefebvre's recent interview on ChaptersIndigo.ca regarding the new edition.
Please also keep in mind that, in line with the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, the LMMI will be hosting the 11th biennial L.M. Montgomery Conference, "L.M. Montgomery and War," from June 26th to 29th. Rilla will undoubtedly play a central role, as one of the only contemporary accounts of Canadian women's experience on the homefront during WWI.
Please see http://lmmresearch.org/ for more information. Rilla of Ingleside is available at retailers across Canada and online through Penguin Canada and Amazon.ca.
