Donations & Acquisitions in the 1990's
The first donation to the newly formed L.M. Montgomery Institute was a 1917 Swedish edition of Anne of Green Gables (Anne På Grönkulla) donated by Dr. Gabriella Åhmansson of Sweden at the Institute's launch in April, 1993
A knitted apple-leaf pattern bedspread made by L.M. Montgomery was donated by Mrs. Pauline (Webb) Jones.
An "Army and Navy" exercise book with a handwritten list of the students attending Prince of Whales College (1893-94) was donated by Anne Kells of Charlottetown. "Maud Montgomery" is number 21 on the list of ladies attending the college.
Part of the newspaper serialization of Anne of Green Gables was donated by Darrell Lesperance of Clearsprings, PEI. This serialization is from December 1st, 1909 edition of the Montreal Family Herald and Weekly Star and contains the first two chapters of the novel.
A first edition of Mistress Pat signed "Yours Cordially, L.M. Montgomery" was donated by Dr. Elizabeth Epperly.
The Anita Webb Collection: a complete twenty-two volume set of L.M. Montgomery's novels, including a number of first editions inscribed and annotated by the author herself were donated by the Estate of the late Anita Webb, and presented by her nieces Mrs. Louise Lowther and Mrs. Ina Reed. Anita Webb was the daughter of Ernest and Myrtle Webb of Cavendish and lived with her family in the house known today as Green Gables. In the 1930s, L.M. Montgomery invited Anita to her home in Toronto as a companion and housekeeper and she remained with the Macdonald family until Montgomery's death in 1942.
The Anna P. Odell Collection: a collection of twenty-six vintage novels, including fourteen by L.M. Montgomery, was donated by the Estate of the late Anna P. Odell. The collection includes several McClelland and Stewart Cavendish editions and later Ryerson printings of Montgomery's works.
Finnish edition of Anne of Green Gables (Annan nuoruusvuodet) was donated by Merja Norros of Finland.

Montgomery Conference 2014 -- Call for Proposals!
Planning is already underway for the next Montgomery Conference, "L.M. Montgomery and War". This eleventh biennial offering of the Institute's International Conference will take place at UPEI June 26th - 29th, 2014. Please note that the deadline for proposals has moved up this year, to June 15th, 2013.
