MontgomeryIn 1998, under the leadership of the L.M. Montgomery Institute, the University of Prince Edward Island established its first university course dedicated to Montgomery. Introduced as a special studies course in 1996, this highly popular course has attracted students from across Canada and around the world. This course investigates L.M. Montgomery's contributions as a writer of women's and children's fiction; as a diarist and poet; and as a regional and international writer. Readings include some of Montgomery's most popular works from the Anne and Emily series as well as her lesser-known works. It is the only regular credit undergraduate course on Montgomery in North America. |
