This past Spring, a new collection of short stories complied by Carolyn Strom Collins and the late Christy Woster was published by Nimbus Press. The LMMI has this exclusive look at how the collection came to be. Welcome, Carolyn!
The LMMI sends its condolences to the family of Roderick J. Macdonald, who passed away over the weekend. Roderick was the son of Ruth and Stuart Macdonald and L.M. Montgomery's grandson. The funeral details are below:
The LMMI was deeply saddened to hear about the death of L.M. Montgomery's grandson, David Cameron Macdonald. David was a longtime supporter of the Institute. In April 2002, he and his sister Catherine donated 18 books that belonged to their father, Chester Cameron Macdonald, which is now part of the Macdonald Collection.

Friday, May 19, 2017 - 13:45
The LMMI is honoured to have this exclusive post by our longtime member and founder of the institute, Dr. Elizabeth Rollins Epperly, who discusses three reasons why she decided to write and publish her memoir, Power Notes: Leadership By Analogy. Epperly was the fourth president of UPEI and was the first student to register at the newly amalgamated UPEI in 1969. A native of Virginia, she came to Canada because of her love for L.M. Montgomery's writing. She is a scholar, curator, and author. Some of her books include, The Fragrance of Sweet-Grass: L.M. Montgomery's Heroine's and the Pursuit of Romance (2014), Imagining Anne: The Island Scrapbooks of L.M. Montgomery (2008), and Through Lover's Lane: L.M. Montgomery's Photography and Visual Imagination (2007). You can find out more about her at https://elizabethepperly.com.
All of us at the LMMI were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our dear friend, John Macneill. Sending Jennie Macneill and her family our sympathies. Mary Beth Cavert from the L.M. Montgomery Literary Society wrote this lovely obituary about John and I share it with you now.
The LMMI was saddened to hear about Ruth Macdonald’s death this week. A passionate supporter of L.M. Montgomery studies, Ruth was one of the first people contacted about the Institute and was present at its first launch party, as well as many of our biennial conferences throughout the years.
